Dr. Kenneth Coale
Director, Moss Landing Marine Laboratories (CSU/UC Representative)
Dr. Kenneth Coale is the Director of the Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, which provides a graduate program in Marine Science and research facilities serving a consortium of seven California State University campuses. Dr. Coale is a global biogeochemist whose research interests involve carbon cycling and iron as key elements controlling marine production and climate change; mercury and its impacts in California watersheds; and the use of natural and bomb-produced radionuclides in the study of marine rate processes. Currently he serves on the SeaGrant RASGAP Panel, the California Ocean Protection Council Science Advisory Team, the Central and Northern California Ocean Observing Systems Executive Council, the National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS) Council and the UNOLS Executive Committee and the CSU Council on Ocean Affairs, Science and Technology. Professor Coale currently teaches Chemical Oceanography and advises several graduate students in a variety of marine related disciplines.
